The role is for our fast-growing CPU Hardware team. We are expanding our CPU IP development from internal use to support an extensive portfolio offering highly competitive RISC-V CPUs, either as standalone IPs or as part of Heterogeneous Compute offering, which includes our world-class GPU and NNA compute elements. Our mission is to create through constant innovation the best-in-class RISC-V CPUs for a wide range of market segments and applications.

We are looking for an individual with a proven technical leadership and applied knowledge of various Computer and CPU HW and SW architecture. The successful candidate will join our CPU Architecture team, which is responsible for defining the CPU Architecture, influencing the direction of Compute Technology, contribute to the evolution of the RISC-V ISA and working with customers and ecosystem partners.

You will:

Contribute to the definition of the Catapult CPUs architecture implementing the required features and achieving power, performance, and area goals Define interfaces between hardware, firmware, and operating systems and work with the software and hardware engineering teams to ensure that implementations meet the required goals in the planned timeframe Deliver data-driven proposals using various analysis techniques and architectural modelling Define CPU roadmap features and performance requirements Work with the CPU Engineering Leadership Team on technology pipelines and the definition of Heterogenous Compute strategy Liaise with customers and ecosystem partners to understand future roadmap requirements Coordinate activities with RISC-V International, participating in workgroups to ensure future ISA decisions are aligned with requirements Help Imagination establish a leadership position in the wider RISC-V Ecosystem

You'll have:

Have strong knowledge of CPU architecture with a proven track record of significant technical contribution to complex CPU developments Hardware/software co-design experience showing thorough understanding of all system level aspects of data-dominated compute applications Be able to perform competitive and workload analysis and drive hardware and software architectural requirements Have a good understanding of system architecture and integration challenges An understanding of technology requirements for specific CPU applications, like mobile, automotive and data centre and the ability to translate them to product and technical requirements Have strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders, inspire and help set the technical direction of the engineering team Be able to demonstrate effective critical analysis and proven decision-making skills, with the capability to present complex ideas in simple terms and generate concise and complete specifications Have significant experience in working and technically driving engineering teams in a global, multi-location environment You might also have:

Have a good understanding of the RISC-V ISA and its governance Understand functional safety requirements for standards like ISO26262 Be familiar with security challenges in modern processors
