Head of AI - London - £150k + Package

Please note - to be eligible for this role you must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK, this organisation is not able to offer sponsorship. This is a hybrid role and will require you to work from the London office 2-3 days per week.

We are looking for an accomplished Head of AI to lead the design and delivery of an ambitious AI strategy for a leading financial services organisation. This is a senior leadership position combining technical depth with strategic vision, where you will shape how AI transforms products, processes, and customer experiences.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive AI roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Design and oversee scalable AI systems, including advanced machine learning models, automation tools, and generative AI applications.
• Build and manage a high-performing team of AI engineers, data scientists, and product specialists.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to embed AI into core business platforms and services.
• Establish governance frameworks to ensure ethical, compliant, and secure AI deployment.
• Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and translating research into practical solutions.
• Represent the organisation externally as a thought leader in AI, engaging with industry forums and technology communities.

• Advanced academic background (PhD or MSc) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related discipline.
• Proven track record of leading AI initiatives in a complex or regulated environment.
• Strong technical expertise in machine learning, NLP, and scalable architectures.
• Familiarity with modern AI frameworks and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Contributions to research, patents, or open-source projects are highly desirable.
