Description: System Test Engineer IoT & Connected Devices

We re looking for a System Test Engineer to join an Edinburgh based Electronics manufacturer. In this role, you ll work on multi device networked systems, testing how hardware, firmware and software and network components perform together as one complete ecosystem. This is a 6-month contract based in Edinburgh, with a good possibility for extension /or permanent position.
Rate: £35 - £45ph - outside IR35

Responsibilities
  • System-level test of interconnected devices focused on end to end (E2E) functionality and interoperability.
  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans and cases for complex ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate innovative testing strategies.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art lab tools to validate hardware/software interoperability.
  • Perform manual and automated testing, including regression, performance, and integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in live environments.
Requirements
  • Extensive and proven recent and relevant experience in system testing of interconnected hardware, software and firmware systems.
  • Solid expertise in identifying customer-impacting defects, and advanced knowledge of software and hardware interoperability issues and solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of architectures, protocols, and integrations within Audio Electronics / Communications beneficial
  • Hands-on experience with C, C++, Python, and scripting for automation beneficial.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and clear communication.
