Overview
We are looking for a Senior Energy Systems Engineer to take technical ownership of grid-connected energy storage systems across the UK & Ireland. This is a hands-on, senior technical role focused on commissioning support, system performance, fault diagnosis, and lifecycle reliability rather than people management. You ll work closely with service, operations, and commercial teams, acting as a trusted technical advisor and ensuring energy storage assets are safe, compliant, and performing as intended.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced technical support for energy storage and power systems
Support commissioning, handover, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation
Act as a technical escalation point for complex electrical and system issues
Ensure compliance with grid, safety, and regulatory requirements
Support service partners and internal field engineers
Contribute to technical documentation, standards, and best practice
Candidate Profile
Background in electrical engineering, power systems, or energy technologies
Experience with grid-connected assets (renewables, power generation, BESS, CHP, EV infrastructure, or similar)
Comfortable working in site-based, operational environments
Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
Looking for technical depth and ownership without a heavy management remit
