Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Battery Systems Engineer to join a pioneering startup developing next generation battery technology. This is a hands on role for someone who loves building, testing and iterating quickly. You'll take ownership of battery pack design from concept through to flight, working collaboratively within a fast moving, inventive engineering team.

The Battery Systems Engineer will:
  • Design and develop lightweight, high performance battery packs for drone applications.
  • Create and implement effective thermal management solutions for performance and safety.
  • Assemble prototype packs in-house and support development toward manufacturable designs.
  • Design and integrate power electronics and BMS hardware within the overall system architecture.
  • Establish and run test programmes for performance, cycle life, thermal behaviour and safety validation.

The Battery Systems Engineer will have:
  • A hands on, practical approach with enthusiasm for building, testing and improving hardware.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience working on battery systems, including pack design and power electronics.
  • Strong understanding of BMS architecture, protection strategies and charge/discharge behaviour.
  • Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, KiCAD or similar).
