Description:

A well-established scientific company is searching for a Technical Support Engineer to join a growing team. As part of the team, you will be involved in maintenance, installations, troubleshooting and commissioning of high value electronic equipment and real time monitoring systems.

The role would suit a curious and customer-focussed Engineer with broad electrical skills, some mechanical engineering and basic electronics capability. You will mainly be based on site, however depending on projects and customer needs, you will be required to travel at short notice. This may also include overnight stays and occasional international travel, so you will need to be flexible and adaptable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, test and optimise survey and data capture equipment to ensure peak performance
  • Support equipment installation and commissioning at client sites, including mounting systems on various platforms
  • Provide on-site technical support to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), documenting results and resolving issues
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults, coordinating repairs as needed
  • Manage equipment mobilisation and demobilisation logistics
  • Communicate effectively with clients during installation and commissioning activities
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and reference materials
  • Mentor junior technical staff, sharing knowledge and best practices

To be considered, you will have previous experience with electronic equipment, instrumentation, or technical systems including troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.

You will have, strong attention to detail and methodical approach to testing and documentation.

A full UK driving license is essential in this role.

Any experience with survey equipment, sensors, or data acquisition systems in a field-based role would be highly advantageous.
