On behalf of the Cabinet Office we are looking for a Microsoft Migration Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract. Hybrid working with 1 day per week in either London, Manchester or Bristol. Please note, an active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. As a Microsoft Native Tooling Migration Engineer you will execute migrations of user and corporate data from Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Workspace) to Microsoft solutions (Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams). Your expertise in migration tools, data migration protocols, and technical troubleshooting will ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption for clients. As a Microsoft Native Tooling Migration Engineer your main responsibilities will be to:
. Deploy and configure Microsoft Native migration tools, including cloud-based migration frameworks.
. Migrate data (emails, files, contacts, calendars) securely from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.
. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in Real Time to ensure data integrity.
. Develop scripts to automate data mapping, validation, and reconciliation processes.
. Ensure compliance with data security protocols (GDPR, ISO 27001, PRA, FOI Section 26) during migrations.
. Maintain detailed logs of migration activities, error reports, and post-migration testing outcomes.
. Support the Migration Manager in the staging and implementation phases.
. Partner with client IT teams to assess readiness and de-risk technical dependencies. Essential:
. Experience in cloud migration projects, Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 experience favorable.
. Proficiency with Microsoft migration tools (Native MS Migration Manager).
. Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
. Understanding of data classification, encryption standards, and GDPR compliance.
. Clear articulation of technical procedures to non-technical stakeholders. Desirable:
. Public Sector experience.
. Experience with large-scale user migrations.
