Exalto Consulting works with organisations that depend on reliable, well-managed digital technology in order to operate safely and effectively. We are recruiting a Digital Support Operator to support a set of critical communication and recording systems used day to day.
This role is suited to someone who takes responsibility for keeping systems working as they should, supporting users when issues arise, and ensuring problems are properly understood and resolved.
The role
You will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and installation of digital communication and recording technologies. These include mobile devices, body worn video, radio systems, and digital interview recording equipment.
The work is hands-on and often site-based. It involves diagnosing faults, resolving incidents, managing access and configuration, and ensuring that systems remain secure and available. You will be expected to follow established processes, keep accurate records, and communicate clearly with users throughout.
Your work will directly affect how reliable these systems are and how confident people feel using them.
Responsibilities
Supporting systems and equipment Support and maintain mobile devices, body worn video, radio systems, and recording equipment Carry out installations, repairs, replacements, and decommissioning Identify and resolve hardware and software issues
Handling incidents and requests Investigate and resolve technical incidents and service requests Manage and update tickets using the service management system Carry out testing, configuration changes, backups, and repairs
System access and administration Manage user access and permissions for secure systems Maintain accurate records, audits, and compliance information Provide and track devices and security-related equipment
Planning and coordination Maintain schedules for installations and maintenance work Arrange work with users and keep them informed of progress Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure issues are resolved
Working with others Communicate clearly with users who may not have a technical background Work with internal teams and external suppliers Maintain and update documentation and shared knowledge
Continuity and risk Follow service continuity and recovery processes Identify risks and contribute to reducing them Provide system information when required for reviews or enquiries
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a structured environment where systems are important to day-to-day operations.
Essential experience Experience supporting digital communication or recording systems Ability to investigate and resolve technical issues Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills Clear communication with non-technical users Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines Able to work independently and as part of a team
Technical knowledge Microsoft technologies such as Intune and Microsoft 365 Support of mobile devices and related hardware Understanding of system access, configuration, and security
Desirable experience Experience with radio systems or body worn video Experience with digital interview recording systems ITIL Foundation knowledge Exposure to Azure or managed service environments Experience with platforms such as Airwave or Sepura Radio Manager
Practical requirements
Willingness to travel between sites and take part in an on-call rota Full UK driving licence Ability to handle and move technical equipment, with reasonable adjustments where required
Working environment
This role involves working with systems that require care, accuracy, and respect for data. You will be expected to follow information security, health and safety, and organisational policies. Background checks will be required due to the nature of the work.
