Business Development Manager

Up to £55,000 basic + OTE Bristol and hybrid

This is an opportunity for an experienced financial services BDM who has mastered the consultative sale, learned to earn the trust of senior decision-makers, and knows how to make a business owner care about something complex - and who is now ready for a fresh challenge selling something genuinely impactful to ambitious, innovative companies.

The business is hiring a Business Development Manager - Innovation to take its holistic approach to a new audience of prospects, while ensuring existing clients are getting maximum value from the full suite of services. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth by identifying, securing and developing new business across R&D tax services and the wider innovation incentives portfolio - and build lasting commercial relationships by turning complex frameworks into compelling, credible value propositions.

• They already sell complexity. Translating intricate financial products into clear client value is exactly what wins here.
• They open doors at the top. Establishing rapport with senior stakeholders and business owners is the day job.
• They run a structured cycle. Sourcing cold opportunities, cross-selling and converting through a defined BD process is familiar territory.
• What changes is the product - and it's a good one. Helping innovative UK businesses access funding they've earned is a sale to feel good about.

• Proactively sourcing and securing new business across the innovation incentives portfolio
• Building and nurturing a consistent, high-quality pipeline
• Cross-selling the full suite of reliefs to new and existing clients
• Developing fresh 'hooks' and approaches to demonstrate value to senior decision-makers
• Working closely with technical, marketing and leadership teams to convert and deliver

• Has a proven track record in B2B sales, consultancy or business development - ideally in a professional or financial services context, or with SaaS / service-based sales
• Is confident building rapport and credibility with senior stakeholders
• Has the commercial instinct to communicate the value of innovation incentives with clarity
• Is driven by pipeline creation, strong conversion and sustained client impact
• Works collaboratively across technical, marketing and leadership teams

• Up to £55,000 basic salary + OTE
• hybrid working 3 days in the office and 2 from home
