OT Systems Engineer - Contract - 12 months North West Our client is a leading engineering consultancy servicing the Life Sciences sector. They are seeking OT Engineers on a long term client project to support operations across sites in the North West. Responsibilities: • Lead and complete a comprehensive OT assessment for each manufacturing asset, including: • Inventory of asset control systems, PLCs, HMIs, I/O, communication protocols and connections. • Identification of network connectivity, VLANs, IP addressing, firewalls, switch ports and dependencies. • Assessment of software/firmware versions, cybersecurity posture, and any compliance gaps. • Capture of machine-level requirements needed for a successful stickering event and cutover. • Produce clear, auditable documentation for each asset that outlines pre-cutover requirements, device labelling, required configuration changes, and UAT testing. • Work cross-functionally with the global divestment team, site engineering, IT, Quality, Validation and Operations to coordinate assessments, site visits and cutover plans. • Participate in and support on-site visits and workshops with the divestment team to validate machine information, confirm physical access needs and gather stake-holder signoffs. • Support and be actively involved in cutover execution: transition assets from existing networks to the acquiring company s network, coordinate switch/configuration changes, perform cutover tasks, and validate successful post-cutover operations. • Compile automation project requirements to support planning, scheduling and execution of changes associated with divestment and cutover. • Coordinate and communicate asset risk assessments and mitigation plans, including regulatory/validation impacts and downtime estimates. • Contribute to creation and execution of test plans (including IT/UAT and cutover validation checks) relevant to OT and automation. • Ensure adherence to GxP/GAMP guidance for computerized systems and maintain supporting documentation for audits/inspections. • Communicate business-related issues or opportunities to next management level and escalate risks promptly. • Follow Company Health, Safety and Environmental practices and all applicable regulations, policies and procedures. • Perform other duties as assigned. Experience: Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Controls, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). • Practical experience with OT/Automation systems: PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, industrial networks and field devices. • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, routing basics and managed switches. • Understanding and working knowledge of GAMP and computerized system validation principles within regulated environments. • Experience performing site-based assessments and documenting technical requirements. • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with global teams.  |
