Business Development Manager

Fresh People are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Business Development Manager to join a highly respected and ambitious professional services firm based in Canterbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional who has worked within an accountancy practice, legal firm or similar professional services environment and enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and supporting sustainable business growth.

This is a predominantly office-based role working closely with the firm's leadership team to develop new business opportunities, strengthen existing relationships and help deliver the firm's long-term growth strategy.

• Develop and execute proactive business development initiatives to generate new opportunities.
• Build relationships with business owners, decision-makers and professional introducers.
• Identify prospective clients through research, networking and targeted outreach.
• Manage and develop a robust pipeline using the firm's CRM system.
• Arrange meetings for Partners and support conversion of opportunities into new client relationships.
• Attend networking events, seminars and business functions to raise the firm's profile.
• Work closely with Partners and the Marketing team on campaigns, events and client engagement activity.
• Monitor market activity, competitors and emerging opportunities across Kent and the South East.

To be successful you will ideally have:

• Previous Business Development experience gained within an accountancy practice, legal firm or professional services organisation.
• Experience generating new business through proactive prospecting and relationship building.
• A proven track record of achieving business development or sales targets.
• Experience managing sales pipelines and CRM systems.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Confidence engaging with business owners, directors and senior stakeholders.
• A professional, self-motivated and commercially focused approach.
