Recycling Operative Level 1 Severnside, Bristol, UK Permanent, Full-Time Salary

Overview

Fuel Recruitment is working with a leading telecommunications and technology recycling organisation that is looking for a Recycling Operative Level 1 to join its operations team in Bristol. This is a hands-on role supporting the safe dismantling, sorting and recovery of end-of-life telecoms equipment. The successful candidate will play an important part in maintaining environmental compliance, operational efficiency and safe working practices, while benefiting from ongoing training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely dismantle telecommunications equipment using approved methods and basic hand tools.
• Identify components suitable for reuse, recycling or responsible disposal.
• Sort materials into the correct waste, recycling and recovery streams, including metals, plastics, printed circuit boards and batteries.
• Handle hazardous or sensitive materials, including lithium-ion batteries, in line with safety procedures and company requirements.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements, manual handling practices and workstation safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free working environment while supporting wider operational activities when required.

Key Skills / Experience

• Experience within a warehouse, recycling, manufacturing or production environment is desirable.
• Basic IT skills are advantageous.
• Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
• Understanding of the care required when handling telecommunications equipment.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements within an operational environment.
• Ability to carry out repetitive manual tasks safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Information

• Location: Severnside, Bristol, UK.
• Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week).
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:45pm.
• Salary: £27,828 per annum + benefits
