SAM Service Lead / Principal Licensing Consultant

M4 Digital Group an IT Delivery Practice is a forward thinking and fast-growing SME with an established UK client base. As the next stage in our expansion plan, we require the services of a SAM Service Lead/Principal to help support service deployment with one of our clients and be responsible for the end to end ownership and leadership of a Software Asset Management managed service. This senior role oversees service governance, ensures high quality delivery, and acts as the primary point of engagement for clients. You will provide expert licensing guidance, lead ELP assessments, and assure compliance across complex technology estates. Operating as a trusted advisor, you will drive continuous improvement, manage risk, and support organisations in regulated or high assurance environments with clear, authoritative SAM and licensing expertise.

Primary Accountability:

• Overall service ownership
• Governance and service assurance
• Client engagement and relationship management
• ELP assurance leadership
• Senior licensing and compliance advisory

• Senior Software Asset Management delivery experience
• Ability to run a SAM managed service and own service governance
• ELP assessment leadership
• Licence compliance and risk management
• SAM process design and continuous improvement
• Stakeholder management across IT, procurement, finance, commercial and security
• Ability to quality assure reports, audit responses and optimisation recommendations
• Experience in regulated, public sector or critical national infrastructure environments (advantageous)

• IAITAM CSAM, CITAM or equivalent
• ITIL 4 Foundation or Managing Professional
• Flexera awareness
• Microsoft or Oracle licensing experience desirable
