Business Development Manager - Space

An established technology business is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across the space and satellite market.

This is a commercially focused role suited to someone who enjoys selling complex, technical solutions and working closely with customers and internal technical teams to develop the right solution for their requirements.

Responsibilities:
As a business development manager you will

• Develop new business across the UK defence and space market.
• Build and manage relationships with customers, partners and key stakeholders.
• Identify, qualify and develop new opportunities from initial engagement through to contract.
• Work closely with technical teams to understand customer requirements and develop suitable solutions.
• Lead proposals, bids and commercial negotiations.
• Develop existing accounts and identify opportunities for repeat and additional business.
• Attend customer meetings, industry events and exhibitions to build the network and generate opportunities.
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting.

Requirements:
As a business development manager, you will need

• Proven experience in defence, aerospace, engineering or another technical B2B environment.
• Strong track record in business development or consultative sales.
• Comfortable selling complex products, services or solutions.
• Able to build relationships at technical, commercial and senior levels.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Commercially driven, proactive and confident creating new opportunities.
• An existing network within the space sector would be advantageous.
