Sheer Jobs Limited is recruiting an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of complex and strategic digital and technology transformation projects within a large public sector organisation.

This is a senior, hands-on Business Analysis role requiring someone who can work closely with services and stakeholders to understand business change requirements, assess their impact on existing systems and infrastructure, and translate complex operational needs into clearly defined technical and business requirements.

The Role

You will take a lead role in the analysis and delivery of major business and digital solutions, working across stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, business process improvement, solution assessment, systems integration and implementation.

The role will involve analysing stakeholder objectives and underlying business problems, identifying opportunities for improvement and translating service requirements into detailed project proposals. You will assess potential solutions for both technical and business suitability, identify expected benefits and contribute to feasibility and options assessments.

You will work closely with internal customers, technical teams and external stakeholders to gather, challenge and document functional, data and non-functional requirements. You will also act as an important link between business users and application/infrastructure teams, supporting acceptance testing and ensuring requirements are effectively communicated through to implementation.

As a senior member of the function, you will provide professional Business Analysis advice and consultancy, promote recognised BA methodologies and help develop Business Analysis capability across the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Business Analysis activity across complex IT, digital and business transformation projects.
• Elicit, analyse, challenge and document detailed business and technical requirements.
• Translate business needs into viable solution options and project proposals.
• Analyse existing processes, systems and working practices and recommend improvements.
• Work with stakeholders to resolve conflicting requirements and identify underlying business needs.
• Support solution implementation, systems integration, testing and business change.
• Lead or contribute to major projects and service reviews.
• Provide expert Business Analysis advice and promote consistent professional standards.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across operational, technical and senior management environments.
• Support and develop other Business Analysts and, where required, provide line or matrix management.

About You

You will be an accomplished Senior Business Analyst with substantial experience delivering complex business and technology change. You should be comfortable operating autonomously, influencing senior stakeholders and working across both business and technical teams.

You will have a degree or equivalent professional experience, together with a professional qualification or demonstrable high-level understanding of relevant business disciplines.

Strong knowledge of BCS Business Analysis principles and methodologies is particularly important, alongside extensive experience of requirements elicitation, process analysis, stakeholder management, options appraisal and solution delivery.

You will also bring excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with proven experience managing complex projects or programmes and developing practical solutions to challenging business problems.
