Business Analyst - Microsoft Purview

Business Analyst - Microsoft Purview - is required by a large IT software company to capture requirements, map processes, document data definitions and support practical data governance improvements across a large-scale data services transformation programme.

You will be responsible for:

• Delivering business analysis outcomes across data governance and compliance projects.
• Gathering requirements through workshops and interviews, then documenting them as business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, data dictionaries and RAID logs, and shaping them into a clear backlog.
• Applying data governance principles to shape data ownership and data stewardship in line with regulatory requirements.
• Configuring and utilising Microsoft Purview capabilities such as Data Map, Unified Catalog, business glossary, classifications, lineage and Collections.
• Investigating data quality issues.
• Collaborating with data engineering, architecture, security and compliance teams to embed governance requirements into solution designs.
• Communicating progress, risks and decisions clearly to project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Utilising AI tools to speed up analysis, documentation and communication.

Required experience and skills:

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance tooling.
• Ability to analyse complex, ambiguous business problems and translate them into practical requirements, process improvements and governance actions.
• Good knowledge of data governance concepts and related business processes.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders.
