Description:	Business Development Manager - European Road Freight - Felixstowe - Salary Negotiable (DOE) About the Company Our client is a well-established international logistics business based in Felixstowe, with a strong reputation for delivering reliable freight and supply chain solutions across European markets. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced European Road Freight Business Development Manager to join their team and play a key role in driving new business and expanding their road freight customer base across Europe. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven logistics professional who enjoys building new client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and taking ownership of the full sales cycle within a fast-moving, international environment. Business Development Manager (European Road Freight) - The details Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience Hybrid working Car allowance available Company pension 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Opportunity to work within a growing and well-established European road freight operation Genuine scope to develop new business and build long-term client relationships Clear career development opportunities within an expanding business Business Development Manager (European Road Freight) - Requirements 2-3+ years' experience in business development, sales, or account management within European road freight or logistics Strong knowledge of European road freight operations, groupage, FTL/LTL, and cross-border movements Proven track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets Good understanding of customs procedures and documentation relevant to European road freight Confident, proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities Strong negotiation skills with commercial awareness around rates and margins Excellent relationship-building skills with customers, hauliers, and overseas partners Comfortable working independently and managing your own pipeline with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Competent with Microsoft Office and CRM/freight management systems Business Development Manager (European Road Freight) - Responsibilities Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities across European road freight Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients through proactive outreach and networking Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact through to contract negotiation and onboarding Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers to maximise growth potential Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth handover and delivery of new accounts Prepare and present competitive quotations, negotiating rates in line with commercial targets Keep up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and opportunities within European road freight Attend client meetings, site visits, and industry events as required (hybrid role, with travel as needed) Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and client interactions within the CRM system Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities to improve service offering and customer retention Report on sales performance, pipeline development, and key wins to senior management About Us Detail2Recruitment acts as an employment agency in respect of this position.
