Are you a commercially driven Business Development Manager who thrives on building trusted broker relationships, opening new opportunities and turning insight into results? This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a key region and make a visible impact on the growth and quality of our mortgage business.

You will lead and develop a regional panel of mortgage intermediaries across the North, creating a focused sales plan and building partnerships that deliver sustainable, high-quality business. You will have the freedom to shape activity across your territory, use market insight to uncover growth opportunities and represent our brands at broker meetings, trade events and roadshows. If you enjoy being out in the market, influencing decisions and seeing the direct results of your work, this role offers the scope to do exactly that.

What you'll be doing:

Owning and growing a regional panel of mortgage intermediaries, delivering against volume, quality and business-mix targets

Building trusted, productive relationships with key brokers and becoming their go-to contact for our mortgage products and services

Winning new business by identifying prospective, underperforming and untapped accounts

Creating and delivering a data-led regional sales plan that turns customer, market and performance insight into action

Leading purposeful broker meetings and presentations, with clear objectives and strong follow-through

Tracking conversion, quality and volume performance, then acting quickly to maximise results

Using CRM and sales tools to prioritise opportunities, manage activity and maintain accurate records

Working closely with internal teams to resolve issues, improve broker experiences and unlock regional growth

Bringing competitor and market intelligence back into the business to support commercial decisions

Raising our profile through LinkedIn, trade exhibitions, seminars, roadshows and corporate hospitality events

Delivering responsibly and with integrity, in line with regulatory requirements, delegated authority, internal policies and Treating Customers Fairly principles

Managing your territory, travel, resources, risks and priorities with the autonomy needed to deliver your sales plan

What we're looking for:

Proven business-to-business sales experience within financial services

Strong knowledge of the financial services intermediary market and experience managing IFA or other intermediary trading relationships

A successful track record of selling to intermediaries or other third parties and converting relationships into sustainable business

The credibility to explain mortgage products, target markets, lending criteria, policies and procedures clearly

Excellent relationship-building, influencing and stakeholder management skills

Confident presentation and communication skills, whether engaging one-to-one, virtually or with a group

A commercial mindset and confidence using figures to analyse performance, identify opportunities and report against targets

Strong planning, organisation, written communication and diary-management skills

The drive to work independently, balance competing priorities and take ownership of outcomes

Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office skills, plus experience using CRM databases, Microsoft Teams or similar virtual platforms

Relevant regulatory knowledge and a clear commitment to integrity, customer fairness and the prevention of financial crime

A full valid driving licence and the flexibility to travel frequently across the UK, including occasional overnight stays

It would be an advantage if you have:

CeMAP, CF1 and CF2 qualifications, or current progress towards them

Education to at least A-level standard or a professional equivalent such as FPC

Knowledge of Kensington products, policies and procedures

Experience using sales-planning, presentation or market-intelligence tools in a mortgage sales environment
