Senior Technical Lead - OpenShift / Infrastructure Migration / London / Sheffield

We are looking for experienced Senior Technical Leads with strong Red Hat OpenShift experience to join a major enterprise infrastructure migration and platform modernisation programme within financial services.

This is not an advisory-only architecture position. We need technically credible infrastructure professionals who can lead delivery and have a proven track record of driving large-scale enterprise server and infrastructure migrations through to completion.

You will take ownership of migration workstreams, working across engineering, architecture, network, security, storage and operational teams to plan migrations, manage technical dependencies, remove blockers and drive successful cutovers into production.

Essential experience:

• Strong, demonstrable Red Hat OpenShift experience
• Proven delivery of large-scale enterprise server/infrastructure migrations
• Strong VMware/vSphere experience within large virtualised estates
• Broad infrastructure knowledge across compute/server, virtualisation, networking, security and storage
• Kubernetes and container platform knowledge
• Experience personally driving migration activity including discovery, dependency mapping, migration planning, wave sequencing, runbooks, cutover, rollback and stabilisation
• Proven ownership of technical migration workstreams through to successful delivery
• Ability to coordinate multiple engineering teams and resolve complex technical blockers
• Strong stakeholder management with the credibility to work with senior engineers, architects and programme leadership
• Experience within large, complex enterprise environments

Highly desirable:

• VMware VCF experience
• Experience migrating or modernising workloads from VMware/virtualised environments towards OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms
• Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience
• Large-scale data centre migration experience
• Infrastructure automation and platform engineering experience

We are particularly interested in candidates who combine deep technical infrastructure knowledge with delivery ownership - people who can understand the detail, challenge technical teams where required, resolve problems and ensure migrations actually get delivered.

OpenShift experience is essential. Candidates without demonstrable OpenShift experience will not be considered.

Location: Sheffield preferred/London considered
Hybrid: 2-3 days per week onsite
