Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a public sector organisation, based in Milton Keynes or London (hybrid), on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £630 per day (Inside IR35).

This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend the office in Milton Keynes or London around three days a week.

The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will support enterprise infrastructure platforms across on-premises and Azure environments. You'll focus on onboarding Windows and Linux Servers to Azure Arc, deploying Azure Monitor Agent (AMA), and rolling out and maintaining XDR/EDR security agents at scale. You'll also keep the wider Windows and Linux estate secure, patched and reliable while working closely with Cyber Security and Operations teams.

You will need proven experience working with the following:

Microsoft Azure administration and Azure Arc-enabled Servers

Azure Monitor Agent (AMA), Azure Monitor and Log Analytics Workspaces

XDR/EDR agent deployment across Windows and Linux estates

Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy

Linux server administration

PowerShell and Bash Scripting

You'll also need solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, Firewalls and proxies, plus Azure networking such as VNets, NSGs and Private Endpoints.

Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne or Cortex XDR would be beneficial, as would Intune, SCCM, Ansible, Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates, and knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Defender for Cloud.

You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain DV clearance.
