SC Cleared Wintel / Active Directory & SharePoint Engineer / Derby

The Opportunity

WNTD is seeking an experienced SC Cleared Wintel/Active Directory & SharePoint Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment on behalf of a leading IT services organisation.

The role combines hands-on third-line Windows infrastructure support with extensive SharePoint administration, configuration and troubleshooting across a hybrid environment.

With SharePoint migration activities underway, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and maintaining the environment following migration, resolving technical issues and ensuring service stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide third-line support across Windows Server, Active Directory and associated enterprise infrastructure.

• Administer, configure and troubleshoot SharePoint Server (on-premises) and SharePoint Online.

• Support hybrid SharePoint environments, including authentication, permissions and integration with Active Directory.

• Investigate and resolve SharePoint issues following migration, including access, configuration, functionality and performance problems.

• Manage SharePoint configuration, site administration, security permissions and service availability.

• Troubleshoot complex Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP issues.

• Use PowerShell to support administration, troubleshooting and automation.

• Work alongside infrastructure and application teams to resolve incidents and maintain operational stability.

• Follow established incident, problem and change management processes.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Current SC security clearance.

• Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise Windows Server and Active Directory environments.

• Extensive SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online administration and troubleshooting experience.

• Proven experience supporting hybrid SharePoint environments.

• Experience resolving SharePoint permissions, authentication, configuration and post-migration support issues.

• Strong third-line infrastructure support and technical problem-solving skills.

• Practical PowerShell Scripting and automation experience.

• Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments.

Desirable Skills

• VMware or Hyper-V virtualisation.

• Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity integration.

• SharePoint migration or upgrade experience.

• Microsoft 365 administration.

• Experience supporting secure or regulated environments.

• ITIL-based service management processes.

Additional Information

This is a hands-on infrastructure support position rather than a SharePoint development role. Candidates should have a strong Wintel/Active Directory background combined with substantial practical experience supporting and troubleshooting SharePoint environments.

Applicants MUST hold current SC clearance and be able to attend the Derby site three days per week. We cannot consider any SC clearance that has lapsed.
