Senior Data Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 65,000 per year

• Senior experience in a Data Engineering role or similar position
• Expert level demonstration of Python
• Experience with Apache Airflow
• Proficient in BigQuery or equivalent
• Knowledge of Linux systems and administration
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools or languages (e.g. Terraform)
• Experience in maintaining/developing CI/CD pipelines
• In-depth understanding of Modern Data Architectures, including Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Lakehouses
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (GCP, AWS or Azure)
• Practical experience in the full development lifecycle
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to estimate and deliver on-time
• Higher education degree

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Airflow
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into a centralised data warehouse
• Utilize Shell Scripting and Python for automation of repetitive tasks and data manipulation
• Conduct thorough analysis of datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
• Ensure data quality by implementing validation checks and monitoring processes
• Document processes, workflows, and technical specifications for future reference
