Unified Collaboration Infrastructure Engineer Location: Cheltenham (100% Onsite) Candidate MUST only be 40mins away from Cheltenham due to shift work (if candidates applying eg in the North or hours away, candidate must relocate due to shift work) Clearance: UKIC DV Required (Must be Eligible for UKIC Clearance)/Bonus if you are already Active or Lapsed Ideal Candidate - You are a hands-on infrastructure engineer with strong experience in Cisco Unified Communications and enterprise collaboration platforms, backed by solid knowledge of networking, virtualisation, and converged infrastructure. You've worked with voice and video environments, understand how the underlying Servers, storage, and networks support them, and are comfortable troubleshooting across the full stack.
- You're confident in secure, operational environments, happy working onsite in a shift-based role, and able to support mission-critical communication systems. A proactive team player, you enjoy solving complex technical issues and continuously improving the reliability and performance of collaboration services
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 D.O.E (basic) + £5,000 DV Bonus + Many more Benefits Job Spec: We are seeking a hands-on Unified Collaboration Infrastructure Engineer to support secure enterprise voice, video, and collaboration platforms within a high-security environment. This role sits within a managed service team responsible for critical communication systems and the infrastructure that underpins them. Key Responsibilities - Support and maintain enterprise voice and video platforms
- Manage video conferencing and room-based collaboration systems
- Maintain underlying network, server, and storage infrastructure
- Support partner connectivity across the UK and overseas
- Perform hardware installation and configuration
- Contribute to monitoring, automation, and operational tooling
- Participate in a shift and on-call support rota
Core Technical Skills Unified Communications - Cisco UC platforms (CUCM, Unity, Expressway, Meeting Server, Jabber)
- Webex administration
- SIP protocol knowledge
- Integration with Microsoft 365/Teams or other UC platforms
Video Collaboration - Cisco video conferencing endpoints (Room Kits, Webex Boards, SX/MX, Desk Series)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms
- Understanding of cross-platform interoperability
Network Infrastructure - LAN/WAN fundamentals
- QoS for voice and video traffic
- VLANs and IP Addressing
- Secure device onboarding and certificate management
- Firewall administration (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
Servers, Virtualisation & Storage - Windows and Linux server support
- VMware/vSphere
- Storage provisioning, replication and backup
- Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, FlexPod and NetApp environments
Automation & Monitoring - Scripting and automation experience
- Ansible/Terraform
- Splunk and Grafana
Cloud - AWS infrastructure
- Hybrid cloud environments integrating on-prem systems
