Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements: - • 5+ years building customer-facing web applications end-to-end (frontend + backend).
- • Strong React / Next.js skills and ability to build production-quality UI (not just prototypes).
- • Strong backend fundamentals (Node.js / TypeScript preferred) and solid database design skills (Postgres).
- • Experience building transactional flows involving payments, edge cases, failure states, and user trust.
- • Self-directed, ownership mindset, comfortable working closely with founders in an early-stage environment.
Responsibilities: - You will be the first engineering hire, working directly with the founders to build the first production-ready version of SwapTix.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- • Owning the MVP build end-to-end (frontend, backend, database and deployment).
- • Building transactional marketplace flows including listing, buying, payments, cancellations, refunds and failure states.
- • Implementing authentication, permissions and basic admin tooling.
- • Designing clean APIs, data models and scalable architecture foundations.
- • Setting up engineering discipline: repository structure, CI/CD, environments, logging and monitoring.
- • Working in short delivery cycles with weekly milestones and demos.
- • Writing maintainable, well-tested code with long-term scalability in mind.
- • Contributing to product decisions, especially around clarity, transparency and user trust.
- This is a high-ownership role with real influence over architecture and technical standards.
