Production Test Engineer

Production Test Engineer Electronics Colchester Up to 34, Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

We are recruiting an Electronics Production Test Engineer to join a well-established engineering manufacturer in Colchester.

This is a hands-on role focused on testing electronic hardware, including PCB assemblies (PCBAs), embedded systems, and finished products within a production environment.

You will work closely with R&D, production, and quality teams to validate products, diagnose faults, and support continuous improvement.

Please note: this role involves electronic hardware testing and is not a software QA or automation testing position.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Executing formal test procedures on PCBAs and electronic assemblies
• Component-level fault finding, diagnosis, and repair
• Producing fault reports to support product improvement
• Maintaining test records in line with ISO 9001 procedures
• Creating and operating Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
• Supporting new product introduction and validation
• Collaborating with R&D, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues

What We're Looking For

• HNC / HND / ONC in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience in electronic test within manufacturing or R&D
• Strong fault-finding skills to component level
• Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and electronic test equipment
• Experience with PCBAs and electronic assemblies
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IPC standards

Desirable:

• RF or microwave testing experience
• Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
