Exalto Consulting is recruiting for a 3rd Line Support Operator to join a close knit IT support function.

This role is suited to someone with a solid systems administration background who is comfortable working across a Microsoft estate, supporting core infrastructure, and taking ownership of more complex technical issues that sit beyond 1st and 2nd line.

The environment is centred around a Wintel estate and strong day to day experience across Microsoft 365, Group Policy, Exchange, Active Directory, Intune and Scripting will be important. The team is also beginning to look at Azure, so any exposure there would be useful, but this is not the main focus of the role.

This is a position for someone who enjoys practical technical support, understands how to keep core systems running effectively, and can work as part of a collaborative team delivering reliable internal IT services.

What the role will involve
You will act as an escalation point for more complex support issues, helping to maintain and improve core systems across the estate. Alongside incident resolution, the role will involve wider systems administration responsibilities and ongoing support of the infrastructure environment.

You will be working across technologies including Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune and the wider Wintel platform, with some involvement in areas such as Scripting and hypervisor-based infrastructure support.

  • Previous experience in a 3rd Line Support or Systems Administrator role
  • Strong experience supporting a Microsoft 365 environment
  • Good knowledge of Group Policy, Exchange and Active Directory
  • Experience supporting a Wintel estate
  • Experience with Intune
  • Scripting capability
  • Experience working with hypervisor technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage more advanced technical issues calmly and methodically

  • Exposure to Azure
  • Experience with CCM
  • Application packaging
  • DNS knowledge
Working pattern
This is not a fully remote role. The expectation is to attend site when there is a reason to do so, with this currently averaging around 1-2 days per week, alongside any additional onsite requirement depending on business needs.
