Overview

An AI-enabled transcription platform has been deployed at scale to support the automated transcription and processing of judicial audio recordings. The service is now transitioning into its next phase of operational maturity.

The current priority is to stabilise the live service, strengthen engineering resilience, and expand capabilities including transcription from uploaded audio files, anonymisation/redaction, and AI-powered summarisation.

The platform also serves as a testbed for developing scalable AI engineering practices, enabling reusable delivery patterns for future AI-enabled products and services.

To support this next phase of delivery, the team is seeking an experienced Technology Consultant Engineer for an initial six-month engagement.

Role Focus

The Technology Consultant Engineer will focus on engineering delivery capability, operational resilience, and production readiness for AI-enabled services.

Working alongside AI engineers and the wider delivery team, you will strengthen engineering practices, improve deployment reliability, and ensure the service is stable and scalable in production.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Delivery

• Contribute to AI feature development alongside AI engineers, including implementation of AI workflows, integration layers, and production hardening.

• Support delivery of audio transcription capabilities for uploaded files.

• Assist with engineering implementation of anonymisation and redaction features.

Production Readiness

• Ensure the transcription platform is production-ready, including:

• Deployment stability

• Monitoring and observability

• Incident management processes

• Operational resilience

DevSecOps & Delivery Practices

• Strengthen DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Improve deployment pipelines, automated testing, and release processes

• Implement stronger rollback procedures and release management controls

Engineering Resilience

• Reduce delivery bottlenecks and improve development flow.

• Support improved documentation and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

• Help reduce reliance on any single engineer for system knowledge.

Team Enablement

• Provide engineering mentorship and technical guidance where required.

Reinforce delivery discipline, engineering standards, and operational best practices.

Expected Outcomes

During the six-month engagement the team aims to deliver:

• Sustainable live support capability for the transcription platform.

• Delivery of audio file transcription capability.

• Delivery or controlled rollout of anonymisation/redaction features.

• Clear integration Pathway for transcript summarisation capabilities via API.

• Reduced dependency on individual engineers for operational knowledge.

• Improved deployment confidence and release cadence.

• Greater operational stability and resilience across the platform.

Strengthened AI and engineering maturity within the delivery team.

Required Skills & Experience Engineering & Architecture

• Strong experience delivering production-grade software systems.

• Experience working with AI-enabled platforms or data processing services.

• Experience designing and implementing integration layers and APIs.

DevOps & Delivery

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.

• Experience improving deployment pipelines, testing strategies, and release processes.

• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks.

Engineering Practices

• Experience improving operational resilience and system stability

• Strong focus on documentation, maintainability, and knowledge sharing.

• Ability to work within cross-functional delivery teams.
