Recruiter:P3M Recruitment
Reference:3146250473
Type:Permanent
Disciplines: Project Manager
Salary:Competitive
Location:City, London
Description:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join a highly regarded IT Project Management Services provider on a permanent basis, or on a fixed-term contract if preferred. This hybrid role is aligned to a current client engagement in Central London, where three days per week on site is a firm requirement. As such, applicants must be based in London or within a reasonable commuting distance.

You will receive a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including profit share bonus, EAP, pension scheme, and life assurance.

The Role
The first project within this role will involve leading the delivery of complex cyber security, technology risk and regulatory control programmes within a demanding professional services or similarly complex environment. The successful candidate will be a Senior Project Manager with proven experience of driving cyber risk reduction, control remediation and compliance-focused delivery across multiple stakeholder groups.

Projects may include ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and wider cyber risk reduction frameworks or programmes, requiring the Project Manager to coordinate technical remediation activity, translate control requirements into clear delivery plans, manage evidence and reporting, and maintain focus on measurable reduction of organisational cyber risk.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery plans, risks, budgets, evidence, reporting and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that projects remain aligned to the clients' priorities, risk appetite and fixed compliance deadlines. The role requires a structured, resilient and credible professional who can manage ambiguity, challenge progress constructively and drive delivery through influence where direct line management authority may not exist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex cyber security, technology risk and regulatory control programmes
  • Manage ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and cyber risk reduction delivery activity
  • Translate control requirements into structured plans, milestones and measurable delivery outcomes
  • Coordinate technical remediation across senior leadership, business stakeholders, technical subject matter experts, operational teams and vendors
  • Manage RAID, governance, evidence, reporting and progress tracking against fixed compliance deadlines
  • Present complex cyber risk and control issues clearly to executive-level audiences, partners and senior stakeholders
  • Escalate decisions, blockers and risks promptly to maintain delivery momentum
  • Challenge progress constructively while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Drive delivery through influence in matrix environments where direct line management authority may not exist
  • Ensure delivery remains aligned to organisational priorities, risk appetite and measurable cyber risk reduction.

About You
Applicants must have demonstrable experience within a senior Project Manager role, with delivering complex cyber security, technology risk or regulatory control programmes in a demanding professional services or similarly complex environment. Candidates with broader IT Project Management experience will be particularly favoured, as this will support deployment across a wider range of future projects and client engagements. You must be credible with C-suite executives, partners and senior stakeholders, resilient under pressure, structured in approach and confident operating where ambiguity, competing priorities and fixed compliance deadlines are present. Whilst not essential for our London Clients, it is preferred if you hold a driving licence, and have access to a vehicle, as future projects engagements may be outside of Central London and inaccessible to public transport. Applicants must also already hold the right to work in the UK, as our client is unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.

You'll bring experience in:

  • Delivering complex cyber security, technology risk or regulatory control programmes
  • Essential experience of ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and cyber risk reduction frameworks or programmes
  • Coordinating technical remediation activity and translating control requirements into practical delivery activity
  • Managing evidence, reporting, governance and progress tracking for compliance-driven programmes
  • Presenting to and communicating effectively with executive-level audiences, including C-suite executives, partners and senior stakeholders
  • Operating across senior leadership, business stakeholders, technical subject matter experts, operational teams and vendors
  • Managing ambiguity, challenging progress constructively and maintaining delivery focus under pressure
  • Driving delivery through influence in matrix environments where direct line management authority may not exist
  • Maintaining alignment between delivery activity, organisational priorities, risk appetite and fixed compliance deadlines.
